TRO Saracen
We’ve yet to see what the defining moment or theme of this campaign is.

They’ll be a blunder (think Ed Stone, Kinnocks rally) or a message that slices through the noise (‘weak and wobbly’, 24 hours to save the NHS, labour wrecked the economy etc) which will set the tone.

May was cruising a week in, Corbyn was getting tap for campaigning only in safe seats and everyone was guessing whether May would get 100, 150 or 200 majority. IIRC there was one tweet from Osbourne of all people, ‘weak and wobbly’, and pile on attacking May developed which never abated and changed everything.

All to play for - it’s not even started yet.

G - Farage has just announced that unless Johnson drops the deal, he will contest every seat. Johnson cannot drop the deal, not possible.

TRO, good point.

Chris, I actually I assumed that's what you'd read/heard, but just wanted detail. Cheers! Don't think it will make a hill o beans. Farage sniping from sidelines, "Your Brexit isn't Brexity enough" will actually help Johnson in some ways saying "See, our Brexit is a good, compromise Brexit. Best we can get. No one can get better. What does Corrr-bin think he can do? Dithering" etc.

Chris, TRO is right, attention span is about 48 hours nowadays. People will have moved on to next excitement in hours. Unless something keeps getting "refreshed" in social media.

This potentially spells the end of no Deal, then?

Four positions on Brexit in England at least. No Deal (BP); Deal (C), Revoke (LD) and negotiate a different deal, put it to the people and campaign against it (Lab)

BP won't win anything of any use to them, nor will the Lib Dems.

DG, what about same again - Cons win GE, majority of 1, a couple of Cons folk rebel against Deal (cos it's pretty sh*t, or cos their granny lives in NI, or because they see it killing car industry or something else specific to their constituency), Deal is delay, Johnson pushes through No Deal, cos he can, somehow?!

I still fear No Deal, like I fear the Boogeyman! :-) G
