"Vote Johnson, Get Trump". It isn't rocket science. I see the Trump intervention as a throw of the dice by Farage to maintain some relevance in the GE. I think he knows his grand plan to be Kingmaker is slipping away. |

Chrisull, I think when you see the polls saying "more people trust Johnson with the NHS than Jeremy Corbyn" you have to acknowledge that the black propaganda to demonise Corbyn has worked to perfection. I am no Corbyn groupie and God knows the man has made mistakes a-plenty, but to think that Johnson is more trustworthy on the NHS than Corbyn beggars belief. |

Googling "danger of Cobryn as PM", just to try and tap into the zeitgeist and you get the following... express.co.uk › News › UK 23 Oct 2019 - Brexit warning: Protect your finances from risk of Prime Minister Corbyn NOW, says expert. BREXIT uncertainty and an imminent general ... metro.co.uk › News › UK 16 Oct 2019 - And she told the Times newspaper that if he became prime minister 'I believe that Jeremy Corbyn would be a danger to the country, a danger to ... foreignpolicy.com › 2017/06/07 › voting-for-jeremy-corbyn-isnt-ju... 7 Jun 2017 - It's Dangerous. British voters already pulled the lever for Brexit. Will they elect a terrorist-loving, Jew-baiting, NATO-hater as prime minister next ... So yes, I'd say it's mostly massively negative press coverage... |

I don't disagree, BUT this was the same for 2017 and didn't stop him doing better than Ed Miliband, and the thought in 2017 as why it didn't have such an impact was that the traditional media were garnering less and less attention these days (massively declining sales, massively declining readership, the youth certainly don't pay that much attention to them). So why now was my sort of musing?

Polls (including popularity) could just be duff? I heard an interesting figure on radio news a day or so ago - polls in 70s were quoted at +/- 2 percentage points, by 90s/2000s it was 5-6 points. They reckon that now they are next to useless as +/- 20 percentage points is a realistic tolerance. People's opinions are more volatile? There are more don't knows than before? Younger voters are more prepared to be persuaded, less entrenched views? etc.? I'm just spit-balling, obv! G |

I hope the youth steps up. God knows the country needs someone to step up to save us from the monsters in Downing St. The Conservatives are basically the English Nationalist Party now. Brexit Party mk2, UKIP mk3.

Bob!
So, Farage announces the Brexit party strategy for the elections at 11am today. Is he going to fight just Labour Leave seats to try to let the Tories ? |

He likes publicity and being on question time hundred of times in spite of not being an MP. If he only fields candidates in a few dozen places, he won't be taking part in tv debates etc.

I just don't think the Brexit Party can stand aside and let the Tories get all the 'glory' for Brexit, it's not in their psychological make-up. I'm pretty sure we will soon start to see more talk about the deal being a 'betrayal'. After all, this is what they're all about, being perpetual victims, being 'betrayed' by others.

I don't think BP will take much off the Tories, if anything. Johnson has regained the hard Brexit ground for the Tories. Even the ERG are backing him. I don't see Labour leavers going to them either. They're Labour before they are leave, imho. Labour will get them back, come election. Labour are going to lose Blairite middle class socialist-leaning, Remain voters. No idea who to! In Scotland it's relatively easy, we just go SNP instead of Labour. But England? Green, Lib Dem? Wasted votes if so, in most constituencies because you just give a Tory a better chance to get in. Tough call. |
