i can confirm that I didn't see any of Stander's posts, even the ones saying he wasn't here. Hi Stander! Is Brexit going well? |

Is this like the Ravenous Bugblatter beast of Traal in Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, where if you cover your eyes and you can't see it, it also thinks it can't see you and therefore won't eat you? Hello Stander I can't see you.... |

I may not be all there, but I do know where my towel is. Unlike the 21 'rebel' de-whipped tories, it seems. theguardian.com |

I misread that as "trowel" and wondered if you were digging a ditch for Bonson to die in

Here's a little question I've been pondering and I'd be interested in others' views... One of the things which is most talked about in criticism of what Brexiters say is 'British exceptionalism', the idea that we are somehow better and different from the rest of the world and thus merit special treatment. It certainly annoys the hell out of me, as I just want Britain to be an equal partner with others in Europe. But just how exceptional is British exceptionalism? I can imagine smaller countries like Belgium, Denmark et al having a more realistic perspective, but is it not possible that there is a strong vein of French exceptionalism in France, say, or German exceptionalism in Germany, the sense that they have a special status above all others. Is it not basically something which automatically occurs in larger, more powerful nations? |

It's all thumb twiddling for the next week anyway until the agreement/meeting/extension shenanigans kicks off again.
