Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

It's the is it/isn't it aspect that I find really hard to deal with. I'm on the last big week before my first 10k of the season and my plan for a run was scuppered by an early start at work this morning. On the upside, that means that I finish early and can run this evening.

But in the shower this morning, I felt a pingy tightness in my right heel/arch. Doesn't hurt when I walk, but I'm golf ball rolling under my desk now and there's a bit of tightness there. Usually it's my left foot.

I started writing that, thinking I'll give it a try anyway - I've been messed about by work, I deserve a run. But following my own rules, I'll rest it at the first sign and see if I can get a sports massage before I go making it worse.

Well, I've had a couple of visits to the physio and have seen some improvement. Had ultrasound, massage, taping and he gave me some inserts today which have lifted the arch and make the foot feel more comfortable. Top physio, I've used him a few times now. I would recommend him to anyone living in NW Surrey area needing one.

Sensible thinking by the way, Scribbler.

Cheers SS. I think coming on this thread settled it. Had a sports massage tonight and she's really loosened off my tight calf muscles.

So I hope I can do my volunteer duty and pace 30 mins at parkrun on Saturday. Catch it early and hit it before it becomes a proper problem.
