The owner of the park (the council?) would have had to give permission even though it is a 'public space'. I would have thought that also the core team should have been at least made aware if not 'asked for permission' the day before rather than just when the crew turned up. That would be the normal thing to do if a news crew were going somewhere because there was a specific event on at the time that they wanted to film. Not least because they would normally want to let participants know in advance if they could, that Sky were filming so that if for some reason a runner didn't want themselves filmed (in the same way as you're supposed to be able to indicate to the course photographer that you don't want your picture published) they could choose to go elsewhere that morning.

Media, ask permission? Lol, they are a law unto themselves, they shove cameras and microphones in anyone’s face in a public place, and even private spaces when people are “door-stepped”. Vermin, the lot of them.

Most councils have rules about filming on their property. The media can shove a camera in your face in the street but they can't do it on a council owned piece of land or indeed on a retail park, in a supermarket car park or other 'private' land - and councils are very wise to this because they can often make money out of it. The councils might happily give permission but they'll make sure they get their fee first - why wouldn't they in the current economic climate

Did they interview runners before or after? I'm sure that would have affected their response!

A bit of a long shot - but has anyone done a parkrun in Poznan, Poland? Looks like there's a couple there.

Visiting in a couple of weeks - may bring the running trainers
