Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Bazo, I too have made comments that I have then regretted, I've found Ian to be very lovely when asked to delete them

Anyone finding their parkrun times improving with project joker? I'm on week 3 or 4, (can't remember) thinking about doing an interim recce at the fast course on saturday see if any small gains yet...

Maz I'm on week 4 or 5. Haven't tried a flat out parkrun since starting, but I have had a PB at the club 3 mile time trial, a 5 mile PB and got a 5K seasons best at a relay event.

That's all very positive, of parkrun isn't a race, so I best not go on about it!

We are lucky in Aberdeen to have so many now, we can chose our battle whether it's relatively fast n flat, or hilly n traily. we have choices.

Didn’t parkrun used to say “it’s you against the clock”, so it can be a race, you are racing yourself😊

I think it's okay to use parkrun as a time trial to measure your own progress. It's just not encouraged to race the other runners!

I've never met a parkrunner who doesn't enjoy a good smack down "race" to the line (or at any other point in the race for that matter!) if they are running it at pace.

I only think of it as a race to the line if I win. Otherwise it was just a spurt ;-)

<raises hand sheepishly>Possessing no sprint worthy of the name, I try to drop competitors with about a km to go and if they are close in the last few hundred metres, I know there is no point even trying to hold them off. Maybe that's racing, but most people wouldn't recognise it as such!

i regard all those people behind me as my race competitors, those in front are just having a run and so don't count. therefore i win everytime
