Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Indeed TS. I think when you suggested the vest I'd had recent experience of the gross disappointment when I finished a race a vests were all they were offering, and I knew then it would never get worn so was simply a waste. I'm equally sure loads of others thought it was a brilliant variation!

I like a vest as I do tend to overheat quite quickly.

To be honest though I like racing in a vest, I also like to wear the club colours...so I'm not sure an event memento vest would get much use. Though a parkrun one might well get used for that specific purpose. I do literally all my training in a t (plus longsleeve if cooler) so they are genuinely useful even if I'm getting a bit overwhelmed with them now.

I've only ever had one vest and it chafed. Possibly just that particular one, but I do tend to go for t-shirts only as a result.

For London marathon (2009? 2010?) I had a club vest printed with Big Chief on the front and Big Chief Running Bore on the back. it is now a bit knackered and many letters have fallen off leaving the following:
Front: BI CHEF
Back CH IN

so now even funnier.

My favourite shirt is a crew neck top T from LA marathon. Black with very subtle LA Marathon type on front. If I wasn't worried about damaging it, I would wear it all the time but most of my parkruns involve carrying a backpack and up to 16 miles of running.

My favourite running top is a T which I got at the Torremolinos Half. It's a good size and shape (not unisex as so many are), has a V neck which I much prefer to a round neck, and is a nice lightweight but good quality fabric. I'd rather not have a poor quality race T offered.

I like a vest and in the winter will wear a merino underneath. Luckily I have never really bothered about what other people think of my body shape, whatever I'm wearing.
i have no intention of buying anything apricot or Contra.

That completes my report on running apparel :-)
