Nice one LindsD, was that at Northala? Family run again at Frimley Lodge, decided to really go for it, went of too quick and tried to hang on. 23.26 was quickest since June, so I was very pleased with that. Still a way to go to get to my good pace which should be closer to 22.
Tourist next week and hoping to see some Fetchies at Northala.

I'm hoping to be at Northala next week. By coincidence, one of my fellow RDs was planning to run it next week and is giving me a lift there (from SE London). He's doing it because it has "North" in the title and he's "collecting" all four points of the compass. I didn't even know that was a thing!

Hope to see you all at Northala on Saturday.
I realise that following the earlier discussion about tourism, this will make the 3rd time I have travelled for a parkrun (as opposed to going to one that was nearby). However a 16 mile trip to see other Fetchies is not exactly extreme tourism is it? (e.g. I have done East Coast Park and not tempted now to do a South or West!).

Going back to the logging a run as a race or parkrun, if you go on to Train - add training, then under the type of training box is a yellow edit button, so that you can reduce the list to only the ones that you use. I have 7 on my list, having now removed Bikejor and Bowls amongst other new additions.

Is there a "parkrun tourism" option?

I log all my parkruns as run-parkrun whether I go flat out or am running more sedately.
But if I am going for a time I'll add it to the race portfolio too, otherwise I don't bother with the race profile bit.

Ed Miliband's post 2015 election project, the podcast Reasons to be Cheerful, covers parkrun this week.

Hilarious post on a FB event page at the weekend from a runner giving off about faster folk skipping the briefing and heading straight to the start line. Apparently this showed "disrespect". He then said he wasn't surprised not to see any purple volunteer shirts in their "little clique" - which I found odd. There appears to be a hierarchy of cliques there. he also admitted events were inclusive but suggested faster runners go and find a chip timed race if they want a PB.
