We would need another person to do that if it were too busy to have gaps in traffic, but with our current number of runners there are plenty of gaps to do this.

Occasionally we have an official funnel manager when we have a surfeit of volunteers or are expecting larger than usual numbers of new parkrunners, part of that role would be to check sync, keep an eye on newbie timekeepers/token people as well as keeping the funnel orderly. It's a very useful role to have filled, I think.
