I’m visiting relatives in Northants this weekend. Any Fetchies doing Corby or Kettering parkruns?

Never mind. I’ll make a decision on the day. I may even look at Market Harborough as that is pretty much the same distance from where I’m staying as to Kettering. (Having already been accompanied round Corby by the lovely Fizz and WW, I’ll try somewhere new this time as you’re not around).

Just to get back on LDs hijack - I investigated this a month or so ago after Mo won the London 10k in sponsor kit.
UKA rules make an exception for wearing club vests in road races for championships, but to be eligible for a championship medal otherwise you need to be in club, county, regional or national vest. But that's only for Championships placings in non road races.
For club team places in road races club vests need to be worn (for obvious reasons of club scoring ease etc).
But there is no other requirement to wear club vests unless the local organiser makes that a race requirement.

So Mo doesn't count for Newham in the London Marathon English team championships, but does count for individual national awards in that race.

I think the reason why road races have a club exception is that there was some concern that clubs with black vests on hot sunny days were at a material (sic) disadvantage on long races, btw.
Lots of old timers think the club vest rules are much more restrictive than they are, perhaps they were only relatively recently changed (though I've tracked those rules back over the last ten years or so without change).

I did notice on looking through the rules that it was permitted for clubs to have two different kits, but I couldn't understand why that might be. Would seem daft to create a national rule to allow for not wearing of club colour for road racing just because some clubs decided to have a black kit though.
They could always change their kit design if they thought it that much of an issue.
