Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Fizz :-)
A fantastic milestone at Corby this morning, a young man called Josh (6.4) ran his 50th parkrun medal bunting

Probably not the youngest ever, but pretty close to it, and certainly the youngest at Corby.

Well done Josh :-)

The RD at parkrun this morning mentioned about Runners who have done 90+ runs and not volunteered and there was some (fairly good natured but I think still inappropriate) booing in the crowd. Didn’t like that.

I agree, some people may have very legitimate reasons they can't (or feel they can't) volunteer.

I sometimes think people need reminding of the definition of volunteer.

Calling out groups by the RD isn’t on, not good form at all (IMHO). Guilt tripping individuals into parkrun volunteering isn’t the way to encourage.

MN- That is really not in the spirit of parkrun imo. I would be tempted to contact that RD and politely express your opinion if I were you.

Sigh
First trip to Macclesfield parkrun today, in their 8th week now. Really good course around South Park (no sign of Cartman and the rest), and coffee afterwards was in a nearby pub which offered us bacon baps - it would have been rude to say no!

MN wonder if it was the same one that I went to last year and the vounteer co-ordinator's approach to encouraging those assembled to volunteer was to point at them and shout out 'Guilty - you are all guilty of not volunteering' an opinion that he stuck by post run when i explained to him that many of those assembled had probably volunteered more times than he had.
