It’s a difficult balance. We want to put the run on if we possibly can, this has involved my co-ed checking it late at night as he lives 200m from the start and me running it early morning.

We don’t want to cancel Fri lunch time on a whim and then find it would have been ok but we will always cancel if it is unsafe Sat AM and try and put it on webfms / fb / Twitter by 7.45 latest as we have the luxury of having the connectivity. But whatever you do you won’t please everyone.

We also wait and greet any runners who have missed the announcement. Last time we had to cancel some stayed around and we had a kit cupboard and kitchen clean out in the pavilion we use - was actually rather lovely.

We're debating what to do this Saturday. It's not so much the depth of snow forecast (though that's not great for volunteers who have to stand around in it) but the ice that's also forecast to follow frozen rain. We'll probably make our decision on Friday afternoon. *If* we cancel even with that kind of notice I bet we still get people turning up on Saturday morning!

Probably quite a few LD. When I first stated parkrun regularly I wasn’t on Facebook and never it never occurred to me to check my home run website. Oxford doesn’t make much reference to their news page or FB sites. They probably should highlight these resources in our pre-run briefings.

Greenwich is having a course inspection on Friday afternoon. This weekend is our 8th anniversary so would be a shame to cancel. Only ever cancelled twice apparently and last time was back in 2011.

The only time I a little bothered was when I was volunteering and it didn't occur to me they would cancel.

There are parts of the Jan-Apr Ipswich course that are shaded and the ice doesn't melt. Unfortunately the grass at the May-Dec park has , but it had enough by December, there is one non gravel path, but it doesn't get called off very often.

They have already put out a 'probably going to cancel' message earlier tonight.
