Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Local one is about 4 miles across town, then Alness (25m), Aviemore (30m) and Elgin (40m). I've done Aviemore and Alness once each (both started this year, so they were inaugurals), not done Elgin yet. I'll probably do those two again, and I really need to go through to Elgin, but possibly only a couple of times a year each maximum. Too many kids activities on to spend a couple of extra hours travelling.

57.5 Degrees of Pain
I am 19 miles from my nearest parkrun, east and west. I helped set both up so I feel duty bound to appear! I do mix in shopping, banking and extra running into each trip. As the crow flies, Alness is 19 miles northwest but I'd need a boat, Aviemore 26 miles south but with some big mountains in the way.

I do virtually all my commuting by running so the drive to parkrun is a bit of a novelty.

Nessie - how did I miss you when there were only a few of us in the cafe? Mind you they kept me busy sorting a few processing glitches.

I related the story about Gordon going the wrong way on the return leg of an out and back course to a colleague who is an Inverness Harriers teammate of ours. The response was that he could get lost on a running track!

My nearest (Harcourt Hill) is 4.7 miles away, but my regular, Oxford, is 5 miles from me. Oxford is marginally easier to get to and avoids paying two 5p tolls across the Thames. The main reason though is that I much prefer Oxford's course.

My closest is 5K away but that's good for cycling or running to. If I don't go there I like a bit of tourism but my NENYD is now getting up to 50mins away.

I am lucky to have a few close by but usually choose the one by the beach. When I go to OH's sister in Golspie I will travel through to Alness. I did like Elgin.

Our nearest parkruns were 11 and 12 miles away, so I got a team together and we started one at the end of the road.

I'm desperately trying to picture you 57.5! I was sitting with the "adults" and the kids were over in the corner, so we were surrounding you!

LOL at the running track comment. He does always look rather focused!

I have seven within 10 km of home. From work, just down the road, it's eight. :)
