Checked one of my other son's profile page - his allows me to get a second 10 t-shirt if I want it too. I wonder if there was something odd that went on with my order with Wiggle the first time I did it, as I do seem to recall ordering my 50 with his 10 at the same time.

57.5 Degrees of Pain
The Alness inaugural managed to dodge some crazy rain and was very enjoyable (especially if you like puddles!). Possibly the only parkrun with close up views of an oil rig and a distillery, and there can't be many through an old Navy base. Nice combination of riverside and sea too.

As the first two runners went the wrong way (not easy to do on the return leg of an out and back!) I almost got a surprise first finish, but the faster of the two passed me. As the next 4 were all local JM11-14 there is some serious young talent in the area!

Went to Henley yesterday. It's a lovely little Course, bit like an XC - narrow, uneven, tree-roots, nice hill etc. It's hard to pass and will be very muddy during winter but really good fun. Hopefully the numbers stay below 100 or it would get congested.

Eight years ago, under 3000 people a week were parkrunning.

57.5DOP - I heard a rumour that Gordon not only lives in Alness, but had also run the course on Friday.

Nice course, I really enjoyed it. My daughter got a 4 minute PB, which she is delighted with. Slightly disappointing turnout at the cafe afterwards, but that might build as the weeks go on. Great to have another parkrun within travelling distance.

Too Much Water
Considering doing one local to Berks next week for 99, and then Ashford for my 100th (also my wedding day).

Putting aside parkrun tourism, or deliberate ventures out to new or interesting parkruns, how far do people travel to parkruns they run regularly? I've got 2 within about 5 miles of home, so I'm fortunate, but that doesn't stop me considering one which is about 11 miles away a "regular" one (plus another which is about 8 miles away too). Though if the 11 mile away one was the only one in my vicinity I think I'd be a much less frequent parkrunner than I am.

Around 6.5 miles. I consider that within weekly range. Also it is in "big town" so I can combine parkrun with shopping (or a trip to 'spoons).

Next nearest is about 18 miles by road, next quickest to reach about 22.

Before the local one started I was a sometimes parkrunner to venues 25-30 miles away (I'd have gone more often probably were it not for work preventing it.)
