We're having the discussion between the RDs of who gets what, we've done Xmas and new year every year and would like to again. Juniors RDs just went no!

We'll be doing Christmas Day but not New Year.

I love the Christmas Day parkrun - my sons run it with me, we go home for a scrummy breakfast and it means I don't have to listen to my mother's grumbling for an hour or so - win-win as far as I'm concerned.

We're the only 9:30 kick-off so far. We've done that every year for operational convenience - I live the other side of Grimsby. Wondering if all the other events surrounding us declare no for Xmas Day, whether it might be worthwhile starting at 10am instead.

I think we may do both - RDs and core group discussing but looks like one ED can do Christmas (not this one) and the other NYD (me!)

It might be normal for you in sporranland, but I'm normally in the car on the way home by 9:30 if I've run park ;-)

I'm going to given it all a miss this year. I'm not a major part of a team anymore so will be in the south of Spain.

We put Stormont on at 11am on Jan 1 this year to allow a double with Comber or Waterworks at 9:30am. Waterworks was cancelled and they all piled over to Stormont. It was bedlam, although i'm not sure if it has put me off wanting to do 11am again or not.

Some junior events have opted to run on Christmas and/or New Year's Day, which both fall on a Sunday for the first time since junior parkrun started. I can imagine some hard decisions/hard deals being made in some households!

I've added all the junior data to my two maps, but for clarity it's not shown on loading - just click the tick boxes for the relevant layers to show as much or as little data as you want. :-)
