@Solo Up to yesterday I planned on doing Cardiff if I could run ten miles this weekend -but sadly my Achilles was bad this morning so I could not run.So looks like best not too if Achilles was better and not so unpredictable.

Sorry to hear about the death it really pulls us up and reminds us to make the most of life.

@Torque Steer What a shame on knee!What lovely photo's as well. Sadly a part and parcel of life after Holiday!

No run today but two short walks and it told me rest foot! Hopefully it will love me again tomorrow.

I forgot to say I had a nice surprise this morning. The postie arrived as I was returning from my run not only with my Fetch tea towel which is very nice but an unexpected trophy. A beautifully engraved glass memento from a 5k event I did in July! It is unusual as it has my name and time on for first FV60. It is a good day actually as I have just received £75.00 for my Run Norwich too! Nice when good things come in threes 🤣

Enjoyed the old ruin, @Torque Steer !

Not a lot to report. Worked hard on Wednesday evening on strength and stretching, then yesterday was a combination of sitting around watching cricket and lifting paving in advance of builders starting an extension. Almost the whole drive will have to come up in order to re-route drainage.

And just walked in from work and a day on my feet.

Tomorrow I will be driving a couple of hundred miles to see an old friend who is on a dementia ward in hospital, although they now think that as his memory seems to be returning whatever he is suffering from may not be dementia at all! He used to be a strong fell runner but has now forgotten how to walk without a frame. Very sad; at one time he was the life and soul of the party; the medics do hold out some hope for an improvement. Matters are not helped by his wife having to have kidney dialysis on alternate days with the day in between being a day of largely rest. This story should remind me to count my blessings!

Not looking forward to the long drive: haven't driven more than ten miles since February so hope the leg reacts positively! And the visit itself is also positive!

safe journey @alehouse - sad story

today's escape from run-walk-run session was 3x20 minutes.
HR is still in zone 3 for what should be zone1-pace trotting along, but I'm still ignoring it.

@Torque Steer the old ruin set against an azure sky is evocative
@Solo well done with those prizes
alehouse I hope the drive was OK. The story of your friend is sad.
@Rosehip 3x20 minutes sounds good.

I again enjoyed an azure sky during today’s jog/walk. Garmin’s estimate of my VO2max confirms that fitness has stabilized, though Garmin could not yet detect improvement. However, beats/Km over fairly similar terrain has improved from 1068 three weeks ago to 955 today, hopefully heralding the darling buds of recovery.
