I'm not so much sad as suspicious as to what's really behind the decision.

Wasn't the removable of stats triggered by some women's records being held by transgender runners?

I don't like parkrun and only run three in over 20 + years. But for those that like running them it is a big shame but I imagine another app will appear.

Still struggling to sleep at night and a crappy 1.5 mile run this morning due to Achilles and hip pain.We try again tomorrow and will get massage gun out on hip. Also go for walk and hope to see my red kite again.

Wordle in three.

I've never run a parkrun and have no plans to do so.

Oh no no no no no! Nothing whatsoever to do with that! As I recall, it was because the very existence of the stats was identified as being intrinsically problematic and a significant barrier to entry in a survey of people who don't do parkrun.

And the earth is flat.

Well they're not races so perhaps they shouldn't be treated as such.

Don't need to be races. The records are helpful for personal challenges and incentives.

NZD - aren't runner's times still accessible by the individual runner?

@Velociraptor - irony sometimes does not translate in thread posts :-)

Read the carp produced by Parkrun's "Head of Communications" here
parkrun.com

- and weep at the sheer ineptness of it all

Apologies - been missing for a couple of days after surgery early on Monday to remove a malignant growth on the cartilage of one ear - a flip-flop, flap procedure I am told but it has certainly let me with a sting in my ear :-)

Referral to consultation to operation less than 3 weeks - now that is the sort of timing that should be celebrated.

Will catch up later

Wordle in two today - so something is still working

Sure. And I can get that info from my watch! My own parkrun records don't add much. But it is helpful to understand my performance relative to others more broadly. Once into the V75+ categories there is usually not a lot locally to compare with. Having wider regional stats over time does provide additional feedback and incentives. And a little more fun 😁.
