Still struggling to sleep at night and a crappy 1.5 mile run this morning due to Achilles and hip pain.We try again tomorrow and will get massage gun out on hip.Also go for walk and hope to see my red kite again. Wordle in three.

Nothing whatsoever to do with that! As I recall, it was because the very existence of the stats was identified as being intrinsically problematic and a significant barrier to entry in a survey of people who don't do parkrun. And the earth is flat.

Will catch up later Wordle in two today - so something is still working

My own parkrun records don't add much. But it is helpful to understand my performance relative to others more broadly. Once into the V75+ categories there is usually not a lot locally to compare with. Having wider regional stats over time does provide additional feedback and incentives. And a little more fun 😁.
