57.5 Degrees of Pain
Oooh yes appelmoes, I miss that!! And the hageslag too, although I brought quite a few boxes back last time I visited and have in fact just eaten a sloce of bread with hagelslag 😂 You have brought back a delicious memory of hagelslag glued on to fresh white bread with butter!

I've never tried haggis and wouldn't touch tripe with a barge pole.
My Mum used to cook tongue, she'd boil it with all the usual vegetables and I remember her peeling it after. I never ate it how she served it to everyone else but I loved it sliced cold in sandwiches.

My mum used to buy sliced tongue from the deli counter. I never liked it.
I discovered a couple of years ago you can still buy haslet. I am the only member of the family who was pleased.
I'm also partial to haggis.

Scarred by supermarket "deli" haslet. School pickup for what felt like all my Middle School years, to the point there was a girl who called me "Haslet".
I suspect it was even cheaper than brawn.
