Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I use coconut oil in Indian curries and for a vaiety of other cooking from a region where said oil is used. I also use olive oil for mpst other cooking, sesame oil for stir fries, flax oil for salad dressings and butter for my croissants/toast/etc :)
No fat is bad for you, as is low fat... And that is what I stick to :)

I really dislike any form of coconut apart from the flesh straight from the shell, I also hate dates, bananas and cinnamon.

There is no point me even looking in so-called healthy cookbooks or buying so-called "healthy, natural" bars.

I , on the other hand like coconut, banana and cinnamon flavours. Which had me thinking when do we seem to assign certain flavours to like or dislike? Or indeed can they change over time?

- I've never liked cinnamon or desecrated coconut and apart from a thai curry where coconut milk belongs and tastes right I'm getting less tolerant of it.
I used to like bananas until pregnant with eldest (he's nearly 28) and since then I can't eat them and the smell of overripe nanas makes me feel sick.

I never used to like coconut but I eat it in my cereal, it's dried and flaked. I also now eat bounties which I wouldn't touch with a barge pole.
A few years ago I started eating mushrooms which I wouldn't even try and the same with peppers.
Tastes definitely change as you get older.

Love coconut in any form.

Have always disliked celery but had some yesterday and it wasn't as horrid as I remembered, also had some blue cheese and that was much nicer than when I last tasted it.

Was the same with Olives, couldn't stand them for years but now love them

Coconut always seems 'dry' to me. Don't like it at all. Can't comment on the taste of the milk as I never drink milk of any type.

I forgot that’s not what everybody calls it :)
Ehat really annoys me is when it’s in biscuits/cookies that you wouldn’t necessarily expect it to be

Like it very much in bubble bath and suntan lotion. Dislike it in curry. Largely neutral otherwise. Agree with GP’s ‘dry’ comment though.
