The VAG auto DSG box is amazing. I miss it now I've gone back to manual :(

Particularly enjoyed the flick into Sports mode and disappearing into the distance.

I have to drive an automatic car...or take my drivers test over again. That was because of transferring my Canadian licence over, and they don't specify what kinds of car we can drive. I have driven both auto and standard in my day but I don't like handling the clutch, brake business sitting on the wrong side of the car and road.

Because the DSG spins up the next gear ready it is so incredibly smooth, I remember luxury cars of only a few years back that you could feel the gear change, but with the DSG box it is unnoticeable.

I can't even relinquish control enough to use Adaptive Cruise Control so I don't think an automatic would suit my control-freak tendencies :-)

I don't use it but hubby finds it good for long distance driving on motorways.

I love cruise control when it's sensible.
