I love bread and dripping, haven't had any in decades, and really fancy some now. Also fried bread, now that V'rap has mentioned it.

Fried bread, yes. Also what my mother called French toast and my children called eggy bread.

I used to love fried bread as a child. Every Sunday was a cooked breakfast, fried egg, bacon and fried bread.

Remember Radio Luxembourg, 208 metres where the music kept fading. Also Radio Caroline and Radio London pirate ships, those were the days. I remember Johnny Walker on Radio Caroline asking car drivers to flash their headlights at the end of his shows.

I remember I got my recipe for eggy bread from a Sindy diary. Altogether a more sensible food than Jon Pertwee's Spaghetti Flan. twitter.com

Also, fried bread - instead of doing it in the pan, I brush a slice lightly with oil and grill it.

Mmmmm..... fried bread 🤤 I lived in Bristol and couldn’t receive Radio Caroline, but could pick up Radio North Sea International. It was a Dutch/German enterprise think and very exciting to a young teen. |

Despite not much liking fried bread and detesting egg in any other recognisable form, I'm partial to eggy bread.

Fried bread baked beans and poached eggs - would rather have had that for dinner than the veg and bol sauce that I just ate!
