Then I met my middle-class husband-to-be and learned the 'correct' name was French toast and 'dips' were something else entirely. Whatever, we haven't had them for years but now I think they could be on the menu for breakfast this weekend.

Do people here eat their French Toast with savoury breakfast items in the proper British way, or have you adopted the American affectation of maple syrup? Being married to an American with an enthusiasm for cooking breakfast, it is always the latter in our house. * If you have not been following the thread, this is not quite as weird as it might seem.
