I could only listen to a couple of minutes of that, Dvorak, but then I'm an Old Fogey. I actually thought it was going to be *the* Dave Clark, who I didn't much care for, but that was worse
Completely with you on autotune though. Ghastly.

+1 from me about autotune .. I hate it too and wonder how many of the allegedly 'good' singers of today might sound without it (probably on a par with a bad karaoke rendition of their song).

Excuse my ignorance, but what is "autotune?" Planet Rock on my DAB radio is about as "way out" as I am. I've got a "boom box," so I can still play my cassettes and CD's. I've also burned most of my CD's onto i tunes, so I can listen to them on my i pod shuffle when I'm doing my LSD runs.

LSD! Is that stuff still around? Glad I never tried or got into any of that stuff - fags and booze was enough for me.

I think autotune is where technology makes up for lack of ability to sing in tune, hillstrider, automatically making the noise the singer produces more like it's supposed to be.

Isn't that simply what our generation would have called cheating?

^^^ As used on Cher’s “I Believe”, but as an effect rather than to correct an inability to sing.
(Stands back and waits for comments about Cher being a rubbish singer anyway!)

My kids (21 and 20) both like 80s music but are constantly amazed when I tell them of the various samples in current songs that come from yesteryear and of covers. It all began with Ellie Goldings cover of "Your song".

So, like, if autotune had been invented in the olden days I might not have been chucked out of the choir?
