I heard that on the radio tonight, Dvorak. Very pleasing for those who remain able to do lots of endurance exercise into old age (I intend to, but you never know what's waiting for you where health is concerned.)

Have they demonstrated that it isn't having the immune system of a 20 yo that allows them to cycle so far at such a distinguished age?

I see that the WHO have reclassified age groups and you're middle aged if you are 66-79; elderly/ senior if you are 80-90......and "long lived elderly" if you are 100. +. !!! Oh...before all that comes "youth-young people" between 18 and 65!!! That seems a bit silly to me. I don't go for some of these so called tests that are supposed to show how certain groups of people are better in some ways than others. And which group/s of twenty year olds were being studied....rubbish! |

I wonder if that applies to 72 year olds who "spin" and run marathons.

When I was in A&E last week, the doctor told me I was "young" (she wasn't going by my looks either, she had my notes and knew my age ;-)). I'm sorry, but I laughed :-)!
