Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Just noticed this thread.
Haven't done anything since last Wednesday in Salthouse Dock Liverpool (five laps of 500m approx.), but will do it again tommorrow and hope to up it to seven.

Crosby marina is good for facilities but really suffers when wind is high.

Even had to do a pool session with the Condors last week.

tell her that you've just developed a severe rubber fetish and you need a new suit to wear to satisfy it ;-) that should work :-)

My OW yesterday was, interesting. After Sunday's disappointing 41:30 for 1.9km at the Swashbuckler (tidal river swim) I went with the intention of slowing it down, thinking stroke mechanics and rhythm. Felt comfortable, realxed and composed throughout, had Garmin on the back of the head and found I'd covered 2.6km, at a pace that would have got me out of the water in around 36-37 mins for 1.9km. OK no tide here, but shows how much getting involved in the biff and not thinking about what you are actually doing strokewise can damage overall pace as well as increasing hugely the effort and stress involved to end up going slower. Happy though, that winter pool work improvements are there, it's just about swimming well and composed on race day.

Will be trying to OW as much as poss before IMUK 70.3, also have Great East Swim (2 mile wave) and an Olympic to get it right.

About This Thread

There didn't seem to be a thread devoted to open water swimming, so I thought I'd start one.
