What a comeback from Pidders! Gold for GB and he's getting booed by the (mainly French) crowd for snatching the gold from their boy.

The booing was quite disappointing :-( Amazing race!

‘Rubbing’s racing’, and a few f-bombs on the Eurosport interview afterwards.

There was a gap and he got into it first.

I think the booing was quite funny 😂 the French had almost won it, no wonder they were a bit sore about it.

Wow, just rewound to watch the end of the XC as last I saw Tom had punctured and was 30s behind, thought it was all over for him! Incredible last lap too.

i wondered whether the booing was more about the crowd perhaps thinking Pidcock's move was illegal (I don't think it was) as it knocked the french guy off his stride.

There was nothing in it. The French guy passed the tree to the right and Pidcock went left. There was a natural coming together by which time Pidcock was a wheel ahead.

There is a natural partisan attitude with the French which no doubt any host nation would be. However much we also dislike Argentina, to jeer every Argentinian participating team is a bit much. After all, it was the national football team who were at fault - not a rugby team or tennis players.

About This Thread

Couldn't find a thread so thought I would start one.

Who else is off to watch or who is watching at home?

We're doing Lille and Paris and a mix of sports. Currently trying to find travel insurance that includes ticket cancellation as some of the trains in the UK might be difficult and we have some internal French trains to do as well.

Also need to work out the new Paris metro ticket/app combo (Navigo I think).
