Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

They should never have even considered the Seine

There are surely loads of lovely locations but they wanted the city centre Olympics

I mean if you can have surfing in another country why not have triathlon and the open water swimming elsewhere in France?
And as an athlete fancy going to bed wondering if you have to race tomorrow or not?

Certainly a bit of a gamble, and it doesnโ€™t seem to be paying off.

The stupid thing is they've known this for months if not years. It's unprofessional. As Pixie points out, going to bed not knowing if you have a race tomorrow or not, after 4 years prep.

Make them swim the slalom course! That would spice things up a bit and break up the pack! ;-)

The Seine has been out of bounds for 100 years itโ€™s nit as if itโ€™s an unknown issue!

I seem to remember a piece a while back that the organisers were running the swims in the Seine to highlight the massive improvements in water quality that have been achieved, so that's going well for them then.

As an athlete Iโ€™d be furious

4 years of trading (ok 3!) to be in peak condition and this s**t show

About This Thread

Maintained by Curly45
Couldn't find a thread so thought I would start one.

Who else is off to watch or who is watching at home?

We're doing Lille and Paris and a mix of sports. Currently trying to find travel insurance that includes ticket cancellation as some of the trains in the UK might be difficult and we have some internal French trains to do as well.

Also need to work out the new Paris metro ticket/app combo (Navigo I think).
