Oh, absolutely!
I do like 'rest is something (to) plan and prepare for'. It's PART of the bigger picture.

In my more fanciful moments I like to think of myself as a big cat. A small big cat perhaps - like a clouded leopard, they're quite dinky as big cats go, and are good jumpers.

I digress.
Big cats rest and sleep a lot but are VERY FAST. :-)

Rest / recovery is something I’m thinking about a lot for my return to running (currently one short joggy walk) after ten days away with shin splints

Note for mainly halfpint - don't know if you're still doing Jennis fitness (I am - at £9 a month or less it's very good value) but they've just brought Lina Nielsen in with yoga sessions.

Lina is the twin sister of Laviai, a fantastic young 400m runner. They both train at Lee Valley and Lina's yoga is fitness/athleticism informed rather than overly spiritual. Suits me! There are just two circuits up now - a 20 min recovery session and a 40 min power one. I shall sample the recovery one later today or tomorrow.

Oh thanks for flagging that. I still have the app but struggling to fit sessions in at the moment. I do yoga on weekday mornings so will have a look.

It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare, it is because we do not dare that they are difficult.

There’s no such thing as failure, only learning opportunities

- no idea (but I used to say it to QP all the time. He just loved that).

About This Thread

Maintained by Sharkie
As promised - a carry on doing stuff thread.

Not a typo above. Half term is too early in the month and end of month Halloween is over promoted anyway. Half time can mean whatever you want it too and BE whenever you want it to be.
