That's quite an ambition, Minimag. Have you got races?

Morning found you!
Morning swim done (even if Garmin isn't talking to Fetch again I know I did it as I can smell the chlorine!) Very tempted to get out after 5 mins as I have managed to hurt the top of my right arm and it hurt with each stroke but kept going and after 15mins or so it was just there not hurting
Taper continues but I do know that post recovery I need to make swim days double days
October will see a marafun done a good recovery using MAF style runs and lots of bike miles
I did manage my 25+m of running in Sept and given a marafun is 26m then October will see more! 35? I also did my average of 1hr a day in Sept too.
Love this thread idea xx

"Half time and beyond" is perfect for me because as things stand I plan to run a half marathon on 1st November, not for a PB (that's out of reach now) but aiming for my first sub-1:50 half marathon since 2014. I've run a generous fistful between 1:50 and 1:55 between then and now, but have no evidence whatsoever that I can run 8.20mm pace for one mile, let alone 13.1 miles.
Speedwork beckons once I've done and recovered from the Virtual VMLM.

To run slower. Yep, slower, you read it correctly. It’s based on a book Jennywren mentioned called Slow Jogging. I’ve tried a couple of slow jogs & have, so far, finished grinning like a Cheshire Cat each time.
It fits nicely with another book I read, Still Running by Vanessa Zuisei Goddard, which is about meditating while running.

Ooh another convert! I too am going to run slower in October and do it with a smile on my face. I’m also (non-running alert) learning to play the recorder. Yes the recorder. It’s an alto so not quite so shreiky. The 31st October is my 70th birthday so it’s about time I did something that most people do when they’re 7

No races, so will all have to be done in training, pity about that as it wont go on my race times, but at least I will know I can when races start up again

Non-running ambitions are HUGELY welcomed.
(Running's alright too - any sort, no restrictions, don't be tight!)
