I just bought the 900 one. They were doing a price match in Lakeland. It comes with a couple of recipe books, but so far I have just thrown in whatever I had in the fridge and topped up with some orange juice.

not far off that to be honest. Having seen them on tv they did half cup of green as a base for most - I do that for some then as you say - whatever is available. A bag of frozen fruit in freezer helps.

I got one a couple of weeks ago (partly inspired by this thread!) - I'm loving how easy and quick it is to use - get a smoothie in seconds and so easy to clean! (I can now recycle my juicer and old blender which were so much more of a faff to use they just took up space in the cupboard)
I've made a couple of dubious ones... but most are lovely :-)

Yes Susie the green contents tend to make the appearance a bit odd. Cucumber and mint tend to make a very refreshing addition to a drink.

I bought the 900 not long ago and love it! I can just about cope with the look of drinks with green stuff in, using almonds with skin on doesn't help... ;)
But - I have an issue with kale. Yes very good for you and all that but it tastes vile! What can I use to disguise the kale? I stupidly bought a huge bag...

lime juice or mint, cucumber all help to mask the kale. Add fruit such as strawberry or rasps

Bags of frozen fruit, particularly dark berries such as blackberries. Waitrose do a fabulous Black Forest Berries mix that has cherries in that I'm currently smitten by. Or even a small amount of mango works wonders. I use half kale in every jug and I'm not sure I even know what it tastes like!

I love it - so easy to clean.

My smoothies are mostly brown sludge.

I made a the following the other day that was nice (everything frozen except the avocado & chia

avocado
spinach
mango
raspberries
mint
ginger
chia seeds

I do rotate kale but I do think it's big con just like manuka honey. I'm pretty sure some farmers just paid some hipsters to blog and promote thier cow food. voila - hipsters pay more than farmers - 100x profit increase.
