I am not convinced people are playing this to win. The current state is 99 hiders and 51 seekers so about 1/3rd have been found and 2/3rds are still hiding.

If I eyeball up the map and look at the grey squares which have been visited by seekers then the two tally up: the squares towards the centre are the first ones visited.
So, the obvious tactic has to be to hide in one of the squares further away. I'd say that less than 1/3rd of the squares have been visited and yet 1/3rd of people have been found so I conclude that people are not hiding in the less frequented squares away from the centre of the map.
I understand that maybe with the current Covid situation people are staying closer to home and so have a limited choice of hiding places but one single 5k run, walk or ride in a month will take you outside the zone.

I was hidden in one of the edge square and I've been found. If everyone has hidden in an edge square then visit one edge square and you could find a few people.

Fragile Do Not Bend
I was 4 rows in from the edge and was found yesterday. Just bad luck, there are big swathes of unsearched squares to either side at the moment.
I think I’d still be hiding if I was in the square I chose for this month but the glitch put me back in last month‘s square.
