Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

The only edible things I've got in my garden are a couple of stinging nettles.

Radishes galore, enough that the slugs are having a field day and I'm still struggling to keep up. Beetroot in today, courgettes have been struggling, as have pumpkins. Asparagus seems to have enjoyed the weather, as does the rhubarb. Alpine strawberries are all ripening nicely and amazingly, not being eaten before I can get to them. Raspberries are all but gone already... 😳

My nasturtiums are covered in cabbage white caterpillars. Other than the fact that the caterpillars appear to be Very Very Hungry should I be worried? I’m very happy to provide a food source if it means more butterflies and it’s not as if the nasturtiums haven’t had a fair crack at totally taking over the entire garden.

Fizz :-)
People often plant nasturtiums as sacrificial plants to keep the cabbage whites away from their cabbages. I’m not sure if they move onto other things once they’ve eaten all the nasturtiums though.
