@Forrest Jooligan go easy with that. Surprised a hamstring pull didn't take you out immediately, but adrenaline can do funny things at times!

@Forrest Jooligan Oh nightmare, hoping seeing that you ran through it is a good sign. @stevieg Another great report, decent hill training again. How you find these low key events Decent weekend running wise here - Saturday got a couple of buses to Wrest Pk (in-between Bedford & Luton) to do our Saturday session, 8 x 800 off 70. Sluggish first one in 2.38, then it was 2.31's and 2.30's and 2.27 to finish. Happy with that Just the classic 11.5 mile Great Brickhill loop yesterday - The Saucony Triumph bedding in a bit more now. |

Reckon it's only a Grade 1 pull/strain fortunately. Managed a gentle 2M walk yesterday & a 2M jog today. Could feel it was tight but didn't get any worse & hasn't in the 2 hours since. It's tender with pressure & stiff after sitting but otherwise OK. On Saturday it started to tighten and was getting more & more painful til I stopped. The pain seemed to abate on the downhill & didn't reappear even when I was pushing hard on the return & climbing too. |

Have stuck to straight forward doubles of 5 & 4 this week so far, which has suited me for a range of reasons. Being on a 3 day online course 9-5 Suddenly going really hot Recovering from the weekend race And also have picked up a weird sort of niggle. Thought it initially back related, but it's more hip/glute/sort of hamstring very vague area. Feel it when getting up, but can basically hobble for 10-20metres then run pretty comfortably. So it'll be minor, but needs a physio to have a quick look I think - booked one in for Friday, same one that got me back on track in 1 go in Jan. Suspect it needs some deep hamstring stretches and maybe 1 other. But in general I operate on 5mins of back and glute type stretches after every run and not much else. Always need that confidence of the exact moves for your exact position, rather than a scattergun approach across a fair few Have a stack of races I either fancy or are in for, but most are ages away. However, just for summer sessions / track etc I need to see this off asap. |

Really pleased you are gradually on the up @philip_m_jones. Still hoping your namesake might pop in some time! Sorry to hear of the niggle woes @Forrest Jooligan and @stevieg. Did enjoy the race blog. Great work on the pot. I love looking bag on the blogs and having race reports all in one place - although I appreciate other users blog about all sorts. Decent weekend @LBAC Si. |

Will check that out tomorrow SQ when back to a more normal work set up (albeit a half day to get to a funeral for a guy from one of my old clubs). The blog function is the massive benefit of fetch. One week or so in I'd say tagging is good too, as is consolidating the fetch and rw lot together. Not being able to edit posts is a big one to get used to though. I did manage to get the whole 2000 or so pages of the old thread consolidated into word. Thanks to Mr fetch, what a legend. Won't be printing it though as it's about 9,000 word pages!!! Over time I might split it into smaller versions by year as this one is huge and takes my work system to handle opening it. Home laptop wasn't having it at all! |

Enjoyed the report @Sorequads Not sure about your multi-tasking activities though ๐ Back in 2013 I ran the 26 mile course in 5 hrs dead. The next day I did the Cheltenham Circular Challenge (another marathon) in 4:30. You need to up your game ๐๐ Got a scorching ๐ฅต 4M in at lunchtime today. 8:30 pace but the effort was 7:30. At least the hammy is allowing me to run albeit somewhat compromised. |

Looks like a hard but enjoyable day out @Sorequads. It's a lovely part of the world to run in, but maybe not in this heat. I used to do LDWA events as a walker and hope to get back into them in the coming years either as a runner or walker (or even one of those who start with the walkers and yet runs ). I've never fully understood the logic of making the runners wait for a slightly later start: I know it means theoretically the volunteers at the checkpoints don't have to such a long stint but an hour is neither here nor there.
