Sounds like you’ve really inspired your pal, @stevieg. Good work. Not a bad week at all from you with strong mileage, a session and a long run. @Forrest Jooligan Forrest Jooligan’s Blaisdon would definitely have been my first choice of those races, especially with the finish at such a great pub, but a change of evening for my daughter’s gymnastics ha agreed plans. Couldn’t see how to join the wait list but will have another look. You’ve managed that hammy very well and sounds like a very strong parkrun yesterday. Favourite venue of all time? An easy hour in the hot sun yesterday afternoon felt surprisingly good 8M at 7:52, first half with a pal. Then 10M at 7:47 pace this morn around the racecourse. Always surprisingly tough for only 100m ascent but get pretty strong. Either I’ve recovered quite well from MMM and am in good nick, or there is something to be said for two days off in a week and only 44M total mileage. |

@Sorequads No session this week, but a 59mile week while seeing off a tightness can't be sniffed at. Will hope my pal stays at it steadily. I think he will this time as for a few reasons he's hit a time where he knows it's now or never. You'll no doubt feel the benefit from a lighter week. Its a conundrum isn't it. Will lesser mileage / more rest days bring greater fruits? I suppose we all think what we do is optimal when really it's what we like to do / part of the routine. |

LBAC Si
Afternoon all - decent run Sat @Forrest Jooligan Sounds like niggle ok @stevieg Thurs - 8 x 800 over the road on the tarmac track with LBAC, really windy and bit tired after Watford, but managed to get them down from 2.42 to 2.30 odd for the last couple. Sat - Wrest Pk again on the bus, glorious day (posted a picture on Facebook). Lucky me, 8 x 800 again off 90. Happy to be quicker than last week, 2.38, down to 2.28 - slightly less windy than last week. 13.5 yesterday, glad it wasn't too sunny. 5 this morning and will do some 200's this evening. |

Great to see you back Bus. Most missed poster. Also nice to see you SC of course Today's runs felt noticeably looser, especially the 2nd one. |

SG - that sounds so ‘pro’!! Bus - as someone who’s permanently broken, I’m really interested to hear about what it is you’re fighting / what you’ve been told by the experts. |

Which bit @Windsor Wool The sensible ease off from a tightness, or the cut and paste musing on life's foibles. Or the welcome back to Bus |

On that note yesterday was the 2 year anniversary (fb told me) of the comedy of running past some kid in a buggy who pointed at me and shouted "silly man" to his dad. Still chuckle at that one |
