I ran Wargrave once and ran 40 minutes! I ran faster in the Windsor triathlon a week later, which also wasn't flat, going up the hill to the castle multiple times.

Thoroughly enjoying the pace with which the thread is moving. Good to see some old/new (to me) faces on here. Have enjoyed seeing the sharing of some data graphs - this really is the place for it. If you haven’t yet followed the head honcho’s blog (fetcheveryone) it is worth doing so. He shares latest improvements, tweaks but also some great data analysis from the massive pool of training logs on the site. I am sorry the crap days are continuing, TT. Great though you get to do a half with your son. Jools is that the swing bridge that caused chaos in a recent RunThrough event? Apparently the start had to be delays when Marc Scott couldn’t finish his warm up in time and then the front end of the field had to run well over distance. PMJ - I am sorry to hear of your loss. Whereabouts in the East Mids are you moving to? Hope there are some good running routes from the doorstep. As this Sunday’s event will be a glorified (and hopefully fun) training run, training this week will remain pretty normal. Double recovery yesterday and will get out this afternoon for a tempo sandwich, probably the same as last week. Just got the details from the LDWA with the updated route. 27.7M and 5213ft ascent. Sucker for punishment. GPX provided which means I hope I won’t have to employ my woeful map reading skills. |

Hi All TT - Hope get it sorted soon. My running is OK, but sleeping is so up and down, trying Camomile tea now before bed! SQ- Sunday looks fun - tough that one. |

We are moving to a small village called Hartshorne which is just north of town called Swadlincote which isn't far from Burton on Trent so I will have to move from The Chairboys to The Brewers (which I consider a good thing). The house is literally where three footpaths meet (one runs the other side of our hedge) and is within a few miles (as the crow flies) of Calke Abbey which is a huge National Trust Estate with miles of paths and on a few national LDWA paths. There are also a few canals and rivers close by for flatter runs. |

LBAC Si - did those tablets help at all? I tried camomile but for some reason it triggered night sweats (one part of what is currently under investigation - it seems as if my body mistakes some things for toxins and tries to sweat them out when I'm asleep). PMJ/Jooligan - I've struggled with hills or any attempts to move quicker over the last few months. It has started to cross my mind that my 2nd and 3rd bouts of covid might be responsible, or at least they could be exacerbating some existing conditions. PMJ - village sounds ideal. Was that lucky with the running options or was it part of your search criteria? SQ - good luck for Sunday! Good news on not needing to navigate/map-read (hopefully). It always caused me stress doing the off-road relays! Cheers for all the good wishes. All done and home. The custard creams post-procedure were most welcome as the first bit of food I'd had in 27 hours! Biopsies taken so no definitive answers for 4-8 weeks as nothing stood out, other than a polyp right where I had the worst of the pain (though oddly he neither biopsied or removed that when I figured that would be standard practice). |

Hi TT - OMG I have had a couple of night sweats too, is that the reason then? Very interesting, thanks. Not bought the tablets as yet. Still up and down - Sunday night and last night was ok - Monday night woke up three times. Southern masters tonight, the 4 & 15 combo again |

The more time passes, the more this thread starts to resemble the conversations I'd expect in an old peoples home! Hope you get some answers TT and the the tea helps SC. Sounds like a good spot for your running PMJ, I hope we don't hear tales of walkers churning up all the paths in their winter wellies! Looks like you're going to have a nice warm day for that ordeal SQ, good luck! Jools, I think you asked about the cough some time back, it's pretty much gone but I still get the odd tickle. I've never known anything to drag on so long. When I heard people calling it the 100 day cough I scoffed but I am up to about 80 days. |

Anyone got any pension tips. No, that's a bit too old person :D I actually still have the occasional cough Reggie, so that 100 day nonsense probably isn't as nonsensical as we hoped. Marshalling duties at the Wycombe 5k last night. Such a different experience isn't it when you don't have to race. Loads of familiar faces to cheer on, and basically a glorified social with a little bit of walking, and a couple of mins at each point watching the big field monster by. Some runners are so robust it's unreal. A V50 at my old club ran a 13miler 750ish in the morning and raced an 1820! Yes that surely would have been faster, but not sure how much. Why the heck you'd combine those 2 things I don't know. Another V50 from another club ran 50miles at Endure 2 weeks ago, a 26.2m training run this Sat gone, 10miles Sun and 1840s for him too. That's definitely down on what he could do, as he did about 1812 or something at the surely harder Maidenhead 5k recently. There's me happy to run easy a few days after a reasonably hilly 7mile race! |

To think a pal told me a mere 4miler on the morning of a 5k race would be a performance reducer :-D
