That was my first thought too, meglet. I can’t believe a woman would wish that on any other woman.

Indeed, 44 years was quite enough!

Thank you for sharing your experience @Pinks . I've also read that if at a higher risk of clotting then transdermal oestrogen is the way to go - I may fall into that category as I had to come off the combined pill due to my visual migraines.

Not sure why I feel nervous about this but just want to make sure I'm not being fobbed off with an attitude of "well, this is what everyone has", without an opportunity to discuss things.

Another migraine sufferer, although not visual migraines. I have oestrogen gel as the patches caused a skin reaction, the utrogestan and vagifem. When I tried the patches, one didn't give enough but 2 patches (to test the higher dose) brought on more migraines.

New here, 57, post-menopausal. And yeah I'm one of the peeps who didn't want periods (I never wanted kids and didn't have them) so was relieved when they finally stopped, at age 51. Initially menopause was mostly poor sleep and the odd hot flush (which I never minded much), plus the occasional disco migraine (as I call it - the visual one with the annoying rainbow zig zag) but now my tendons have all gone to hell.
I ran all my PBs at 52, so I thought menopause wasn't going to hurt me much, but then the pandemic came. I did a lot of running because there was nothing else to do and, after doing 2020 miles in 2020, and a hill climbing (log as much elevation as you can) challenge in January 2021, my right proximal hamstring took me out for a few months. I never managed to get back to where I was before it happened again mid-last year. I got over it again but this year, in January again, my left hip started acting up and will not improve. Initial diagnosis from my own physio was gluteal tendinopathy, but after rehab and cutting back didn't do anything I went to the doctors in May. Was sent for an x-ray and told I had "mild to moderate" loss of joint space, which the doc decided was arthritis since that fitted my symptoms. Eventually, since even a complete deload did nothing to help I went to a guy who did ultrasound scans and cortisone. The scan revealed the joint was in good shape but irritated so I got the cortisone, which helped slightly, but now the discomfort is back.

I do strength train (gym was my first love, before running) and try to do mobility but it's difficult finding stuff that doesn't piss my hip off. I am beyond frustrated.
Does anyone have any experience and suggestions with this stuff?

HRT helped with my random aches and pains Cal - it was my physio who first suggested it would be worth considering.

HRT helped my aches and pains too, im same age. started HRT maybe 3 years ago (after menopause ). Thought my anxiety was due to the pandemic but seems it was menopause related. had arthritis diagnosed during the pandemic (hands and feet ) and it is better now than it was
