I find I don't need to wee as much in the night on HRT - only one wee per night, if that!

I would like to be on HRT but told I can't have estrogen due to endometrial cancer in 2022. However the doc had given me some progesterone when I had first refused the cancer treatment. Pre-treatment, I took some and had the best sleep after having very little sleep in 2021 and into 2022 with no night sweat. I did go for cancer treatment later so had a batch of progesterone left over. When ever I begin to have difficulty sleeping. I have been eating a quarter, since I was given 100mg It seems to help. I am running out so will see if they can give me more. I am also trying foods to improve my adrenal cortex glands. I have spots, having never had spots in my life, aches, however am the same weight and muscle tone still ok. My lips have become super dry. |

Morning ladies - quick Q…. On my fourth ‘round’ of evorel sequi - first three months absolutely fine and have really helped after the first up and down month…. ‘periods’ have kept to my own timetable rather than the patches though. However, this month I’ve bled at the ‘withdrawal’ point at the end of the prog. Patches and my normal point too, so a 12 day and then a 13 day gap - will this settle/is reasonable normal as know that bleeds can be irregular at the start of HRT or worth chatting to a GP? Asking here for ideas/experience rather than heading down a google/head black hole over a Bank Holiday! 🤪

Mine have varied from 60 days to 12 days but that all started before I started HRT so I’ve just assumed it was a normal part of perimenopause.

Thanks @Elsie Too - mine have varied too but never this short. 🤪 assume it’s body hormones and patch hormones just having a scrap with each other. Could do without it though 🤪

I am on Evorel patches and x1 utrogestan. I am going through a long patch of very frequent periods. About every 15-18 days for the whole of this year. It’s bloody annoying. They generally only last 4 days and aren’t troublesome. Apart from one that was both heavy and painful. I keep thinking I should check in with my GP about it but: A) I’ve had an ultrasound (March) and there’s nothing worrying, just a couple of small fibroids B)it’s bloody hard to get an appointment. Not sure if that helps. |

Thanks @KatieB Sorry to hear that they’ve become so frequent. I’m hoping this settles as it’s so fatiguing!

Hello, wish I had been around on fetch a couple of years ago when I was struggling and didn’t realise it was menopause. Been on HRT for about a year now. I’m just wondering if a couple of running issues I’ve had over the last few years are likely meno related or something else. I had a few years off running marathons / ultras due to on and off injury. When I got back to it I had some problems 1. I’ve done a fair few night races and been OK. However, in the last year I’ve done two races starting at night (think both were around 9pm), both of these races went badly from really early on. I just got slower and slower much worse than normal. 2. I’ve had really bad 💩problems. I’ve always had to be careful what I eat to avoid the dreaded trots but found as long as I followed a few rules I would be OK in a marathon. Since getting back into it just about every marathon /ultra has been a 💩show including a 100km with 11 trips to the toilet. Luckily I have now found a pre immodium protocol which works but it took some time. |

Sorry hellen, I can’t help with either of those issues, other than to suggest looking at what you eat, which I’m sure you will have done. I had a recent race where I needed to pee far too often. I think that’s down to having porridge with milk which used to be my standard breakfast, but now I have granola and fruit and yoghurt. I keep being advertised a spray to get rid of HRT sticky patches. Seems like another ‘beauty’ product that I don’t need, but I would like to get rid of the sticky clothes fluff without having to scrub so much. Any suggestions? |
