Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Let's talk about inaugural parkruns after they've happened.

Given that CC was given a near-full page spread in the bulletin sent out to every household in Cambridge, I hope it results in huge community support and pressure on the Council to make it a permanent fixture rather than huge problems from half of the city trying to run around the Common on week 1. Fingers crossed.

Flanker, we don't get the council bulletin out here, even though we're within the city boundaries. I heard it didn't give the start date, is that correct?

Yes, it said something like every Saturday at 9, almost as if it had already started.

Not actually sure what the bulletin was, other than it was one of those glossy ones full of general local and community 'news' that gets a 10-second scan before being filed in the blue bin.

Anyone would think it was their idea! Wonder where that phone number gets answered and what information they actually have available

It's the same number you use to book pitches, contact Jesus Green swimming pool, or any of the other council sports/activity related things. I expect if you phone during office hours there'll be someone with the ability to look stuff up on the parkrun website :-)

There may be an inaugural parkrun happening near you. Best to check with the local parkrun volunteers to see if they want you to know about it or not.

Otherwise there are plenty of already established parkruns to go to in the UK and abroad, see: parkrun.org.uk
