Any more news on "Prospect (Reading 2)" - I thought they were quite close to go live?

It's going to be a little while yet RDxxx, still a few things to iron out with the council

That's a strange article about Letchworth - reads as if they have a course and funding but no volunteers, including Event Director?! I wonder who has been driving it forward?

I've known of a couple of instances where it's been council-driven - they've been so happy with the success of one parkrun in their patch that they've stumped up the cash and location and asked if anybody wanted to volunteer.

Letchworth have a monthly sat morning 5k run by a running club, but they haven’t wanted to take parkrun on

Doc, the council will only allow one run per month on the course the running club uses. I understand parkrun are looking at setting up elsewhere in the town, having not been able to find anywhere suitable in Hitchin

FYI: I've seen a message on Facebook from Melksham parkrun asking for a low key inaugural and for runners to consider attending Event 2 rather than event 1

Thanks Brianj. I knew it had been a struggle sorting venue in Hitchin. Hopefully something up and running in Letchworth soon.

There may be an inaugural parkrun happening near you. Best to check with the local parkrun volunteers to see if they want you to know about it or not.

Otherwise there are plenty of already established parkruns to go to in the UK and abroad, see: parkrun.org.uk
