Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Let's talk about inaugural parkruns after they've happened.

It's not publicised Maz, it is discovered ;-) (And is now mentioned on a fair-sized FB group (not by me)). There would have to be substantial pokery-jiggery to actually keep a launch secret these days.

Have unofficially heard that Upton Park, Poole is aiming to start 4th June. Website should be up in a couple of weeks.

That's good about Upton Park, Poole. I was staying in Bournemouth recently and, having already visited Bournemouth's own Parkrun, I was looking for a new one to try. I opted for Moors Valley (a lovely place for a parkrun - as so many are). The current Poole one looked very busy and appeared to have limited parking to those not familiar with the area so I didn't want to risk driving around looking for somewhere.

Aviemore will be very pleasant, (though it is out and back) on an undulating bit of the Speyside Way. Parking might be an issue if it gets popular but otherwise a pleasant addition to the Scottish parkrun family. Feel free to visit, after the inaugural ;-).

@57.5 Degrees - are you sure the course map is correct on the webpage for Aviemore? It looks to only be a c1.2k out and back - parkrun.org.uk

There may be an inaugural parkrun happening near you. Best to check with the local parkrun volunteers to see if they want you to know about it or not.

Otherwise there are plenty of already established parkruns to go to in the UK and abroad, see: parkrun.org.uk
