Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Let's talk about inaugural parkruns after they've happened.

I have another update on the parkrun at Denbies Vineyard just north of Dorking in Surrey. There is some good news and some bad news. The good news is that this event will definately go ahead as Mole Valley Council has now completed the signing of its contract with Denbies. The bad news is that planning permission is required for the surfacing that needs to be put down in Denbies overflow car park and Denbies won't host the event until this issue has been sorted. The council reckons that the planning permission will take 8 weeks to come through. So we are probably looking at July or August before this event starts. I have also been told that someone has volunteered as Run Director for this event.

Although it appears very precise 2 months plus in advance but Catterick parkrun is due to start 17th June - info from a comment on the 'Yorkshire parkruns...' Facebook page. A further google shows the core team are doing takeovers at Darlington on 27 May & 10 June so all looks legit.

@colinphillips don't suppose you know where #10 and #11 are likely to be? Florida per chance?

Anyone know where Swindon 2 will be held? Seems odd there is nothing anywhere online about it if it is starting next Saturday.

There may be an inaugural parkrun happening near you. Best to check with the local parkrun volunteers to see if they want you to know about it or not.

Otherwise there are plenty of already established parkruns to go to in the UK and abroad, see: parkrun.org.uk
