Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Let's talk about inaugural parkruns after they've happened.

That's good to see - there weren't nearly enough parkruns around Brighton. ;)

Actually, it's not really Brighton at all. Pray forgive my sardonicism.

Just spotted on a Facebook friend's update Sandwell Valley parkrun coming soon. As said friend has been in the know on all things West Midlands running scene for many a year it certainly looks legit.

Teignmouth parkrun was slated to start after Easter at Mules Park. These things seem to take longer these days but I had read that practice runs were being organised with a view to starting soon-ish. I have my eye on this as my 60 yr old sister is tempted after having run for the first time at my 100th park run last year as part of daily celebration (first time since she left school). Her time was in the late 40 minutes but very impressive I thought. She lives nearby and I would be aiming for a visit here ASAP.

There may be an inaugural parkrun happening near you. Best to check with the local parkrun volunteers to see if they want you to know about it or not.

Otherwise there are plenty of already established parkruns to go to in the UK and abroad, see: parkrun.org.uk
