That's fabulous, Teebs! You're like .B. - I always tell her I wish I enjoyed strength training as much as she does. I DO like the big gym at Lee Valley whenever I get there, but working out the seaside or, worse, in my little London flat, I can't wait to finish. Even though we have quite a lot of kit at the seaside I still have to drag myself upstairs.

Am just naturally lazy! Would rather read a comic.

Mind you the idea of a distance run is much worse.

And anything on a treadmill or elliptical or stationary bike NO WAY.

I used to love the assisted pullups machine at a gym I once used - I never got to bodyweight but probably about 3/4 of the way there. Looking forward to more weights work this month.

I used the assisted dips machine with PT but as it was positioned in front of a window and the gym was on the first floor I didn't like the height and it made me feel bleurgh LOL

What are assisted dips, Pix? I can't imagine needing anything but a chair or bench!

LOL
well I guess they do work the triceps don't they?

I'm hoping that when I volunteer at the pool (and then hopefully work there!) that I can use the gym whilst there - I am sure they won't notice. I'm almost looking forward to it. This potential career change also has the potential to allow me to get very fit and strong if I take full advantage of it

I’ve taken up a 10 day free trial at my local Nuffield Gym, which is next door to the gym I usually use. It’s lighter and more open with lots of new equipment and the class schedule looks better, as well as having a pool. I saw my PT who coerced me into joining her core class, half way through I was wondering what I’d agreed to, but core is the thing missing from my training.

It has more stretch and free space, wattbikes, cardio equipment with TVs on, but less squat racks/free weights so I suspect they will be very busy in the evenings. And the coffee bar is much nicer-in fact I’m sitting there now!

With my vitality discount it’s not much more than my usual gym and I think I’d use it at least a similar amount, if not more. My current gym is driving me crazy and it’s getting so busy.

... a weights wire for women.

And in case you're wondering about that title, well, I like alliteration and one can be too po-faced about the use of girl/lady/woman.

Here's a strength standards for women thing Duracel found for us
