My next competition in a couple of weeks has a deadlift ladder - 100kg, 120kg, 140kg &150kg (one rep of each, then reps of the 150kg in the time you've got left 😬).
'How much', depends on so many things - age and what you weigh being two of them. I'm prehistoric but my goal has always been to deadlift over my body weight, and I reckon this is a realistic target for most women.
I'm quite slight as well as old, but have managed 3 reps at 7kgs more than I weigh.
You do need to learn the correct technique and swinging a kettlebell is different from lifting a loaded barbell ... but 40kgs is a nice heavy start! (depending on your age and weight and experience of course!)
Having said all that I 'think' deadliftinbg a kettlebell is a thing!
Are there two kbs of similar weight, say 22 or 25kg? You could hold one in each hand and deadlift? (If you’re able to hold them well enough, that is…)
