The already difficult single leg squats that were on my plan this morning were considerably harder with a Stanley Dog hanging off the elevated leg. He then sat on my chest when I was trying to do crunches - so an extra 6.5kg of resistance added. Cheaper than buying dumbbells.

Quimby, you’re absolutely right, the advanced Calisthenics exercises are terribly intimidating. If the first time I saw a human flag hadn’t been in real life I wouldn’t have believed it was genuine or possible. It’s also true that you can’t alter body weight in a session but there are ways and means around that issue: shortening range of movement, regressing then progressing exercises, altering angles, shortening lever lengths, using equipment to assist.

(closes eyes) I did look at the set with the barbell too but when I added up all the weights I currently had and mentally added them to my current barbell it was the same! So I have saved the rest of my voucher. I "should" get another voucher next year for doing audits at work.... I got 2 years in one go this year as the chap was so slow to do them! So I should hopefully get another voucher to use and then look at this Olympic bar (12Kg) plus some weights argos.co.uk Hopefully by then I will be strong enough to use the extra weights |

You'll need different weights for an Olympic bar EvilPixie They use 50mm diameter weight plates rather than the 25mm of what you have currently. |
