As a PT I normally start folks on 10 reps anyway, then would move up from there with either reps, sets or weights depending what your goal is.

I stopped using the shoulder press machine as I knew I was favouring my right side. Now use free weights for the same exercise.

I'm struggling with single leg deadlifts when standing on my right leg so I tend to split up the sets differently. If I'm able to do 3x 12 with 2x 3 kg dumbbells on the left leg, I may do 4x 9 on the right leg so that the number of reps is the same but I get a bit more rest and I'm able to do the 9 with better form than trying to struggle through the remaining 3 with worse form.

Dominant-subordinate imbalance, depending on the severity, is normal. If it’s excessive (I’ve always worked that as 2+ reps) it’s worth sorting out. I tend to do that by letting the weaker body part set the rep/weight scheme e.g. if you’re doing sets of 10 rep biceps curls use a weight that allows you to do 11-12 reps with the weaker arm. Leaving 2 reps “in the tank” allows overload without annihilating the muscle group.
It will feel too easy on the stronger arm, but patience with this will pay off in the long run by carrying over to improved lifts using both limbs.

I cancelled my build class last night as feeling so tired and booked a PT session for this morning instead.

Still tired this morning but dragged myself in and it ended up being my best session for ages and me lifting the heaviest in quite a while!! Upped single arm dumbbell row from 5kg to 8kg and managed 2 sets of floor press with 25kg on bar 🤗
I may need help to get dressed tomorrow though 🤣

Sounds great DQ! Is floor press similar to bench press? Easier or harder? Sounds hard if you have to move the bar to begin with (ie it's not on a rack as in bench) I always think dumbbell bench is harder than barbell- and lying back on a Swiss ball with DBs is hardest of all.
