intriguing I appear to have just printed a pattern for fingerless gloves I must not start anything else until I've made significant progress on the things currently underway |

Ooooh a package from Amazon arrived today. That'll be that knitting book. I'm hoping it will help me get the fit right for clothes for ME. Yup, ME. How selfish I have a large body, small boobage, massive shoulders and mighty mighty bingo wings. Just cos I is 'plus sized' (urgh, hate that word) like, FAT, it don't mean I have torpedo sized breasticles and a giant waist. Actually, my waist is probably my tidiest bit (other than my earlobes). So I am gonna have a go at adapting some patterns to actually FIT. I find fingerless gloves a bit fiddly. |

RD- had a peek at your projects, they are fab:-) I also had an Amazon package arrive today- you lot are a bad influence, I purchased The Happy Hooker to try and teach myself crochet after the recommendations on here:-) Right now though, I have a cup of tea and am going to cast on the front of the tank top for Dad to get it started. The Guernsey yarn feels more coarse after the soft sock wool I've been used to recently! |

thank you, girlie i really like the happy hooker book. my proportions are never right, either, spinkle. i do fingerless gloves that are wristwarmers, really, so that you just leave a gap in the seam for the thumb rather than having to make a thumb bit. lol hb sewing up the shoulder seams of the waistcoat is being a bit fiddly. have got one side right now. taking a break before undoing the other side and trying again!! |

Not sure how useful it is, Spinkle, but Artesano does a range of generously-sized knitwear patterns I got the Debbie Bliss Celtic Collection book yesterday. All the designs are for Rowan yarns. That really scrambled me! |

It's not the the sizing - Rav has plenty of patterns in generous sizes but I need help adapting them to my odd shape. I don't quite have the confidence to muck about with patterns generally. And a new knitting book is ALWAYS good. |
