Speaking of cross-stitch, I've been sorting through Mum's things, and became re-acquainted with the sampler that she asked me to make for their ruby wedding anniversary.

Two things struck me - the first is how good my eyesight must have been 30+ years ago, how the hell was I able to see and make those stitches? (Or are my eyes perhaps a bit dodgy now because of doing that sort of thing?) Secondly, how did I find the time? I was working full-time with two children! I've got plenty of time now, but sadly lacking the close-up vision and the nimble fingers.

That’s lovely!
I’m looking at making something for mum for Christmas

Seen a nice cat one but it’s 40cm x 40cm which is big and an odd size for a frame!

That's gorgeous jabberknit!

I've finally cleared the spare bed enough to block the mosaic blanket I made with Welsh wool I bought last March on my trip to Aber. So, including the knitting and blocking it'll be done in just under a year, which might be a new personal record πŸ˜…

I'm having to block it sort of folded in half still, because of a lack of blocking tiles, but it's better than nothing I guess.

No idea what it'll get used for, though, as it's too precious to be exposed to kittens. Probably it'll stay in the spare room and get put on the end of the bed if we ever have houseguests again.

This caught my eye.

It looks like it’s knit on an amazingly small/ tight gauge.

Yes it does...very painstaking work would have been involved in making that.

Here's a jacket I crocheted for my granddaughter (and the bobble hat).
