Question for you wise ones. When sorting out my dad's wife's stuff I found a bag of left over wool from where she has made her grand daughters some things. The wood is all different ply etc - is there anywhere I can find how to make blanket squares the same size from different wools if that makes sense..would like to use it up to make the twins a comfort blanket or something like that |

I think the answer is swatching! Isn’t it always? I’ve also seen blankets made from differ sized squares, or you could knit squares of the same yarn size into strips. |

Merrymoo the other option is a square you knit in the round so you keep going until it’s the size you want (crochet handles this very well) Of course if the yarn is different not only will the square be different sizes (for the same no of stitches) but also different thicknesses. If there’s lots of variation that might be an issue. |

Mandymoo another option would be to double up thin looking yarn as say sock yarn is twice as thin as dk.
