Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Has anyone ever made a waistcoat (sewn)?

It’s our 25th wedding anniversary in a few months and I’d really like to make one for my other half as a present…

I made one years ago when I was in sixth form or uni. They’re not too bad as long as you follow the instructions carefully as you need to sew the lining to the outside then turn it inside out

I've made a waistcoat too. Years ago it was one of the first projects on my dressmaking C&G. As Meglet says, relatively simple just follow the "bagging out" instructions carefully

I made my ex brother in law a waistcoat when my sister and him got married! It was easy enough!

Definitely easier than something you have to set sleeves in!

I usually favour Vogue patterns for anything which has a bit of tailoring or detail. I bet it'll turn out really well - scope for an interesting lining for sure, a shot fabric or something with a bit of a pattern.

I made one in secondary school! I remember choosing the fabric and making it and being really pleased with myself.
